Congratulations to our
Magnet Director, Dr. Gregg Farmer
and Wheeler teacher, Andrea Hawes,
who received the Above and Beyond Award for the 2007-2008.
Each year, the Academic Booster Club and the PTSA
team up to honor 2 faculty or staff members who have
gone “Above & Beyond”, giving their
time and talents to help and encourage the students
at Wheeler High School. The recipients have been nominated
by staff, students or parents. The winners were announced
May 15th at Honors Night.
Congratulations to Senior
Shelby Hines, who placed 3rd in the
400 (time: 56.6 seconds) in the Class AAAAA Girls
Track and Field State Meet.
Congratulations to Santhosh
Karnik who qualified
for the prestigious 37th United States of America
Mathematical Olympiad. Only about 500 students nationwide
are selected from among nearly 12,000 participants
in the AIME. The 9-hour USAMO exam will be administered
at Wheeler in two parts on April 29th and 30th.
We
now have a total of 38 students beginning with the
Class of 2004 that have scored an 800 on one or more
portions of the SAT. View
