week of fun and learning
The
Center for Advanced Studies' Science
Spectrum Summer Camp is designed for
rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students who
have an interest in science and engineering.
This five day camp will offer students the opportunity
to explore an array of science and engineering
fields including Robotics, Chemistry, Forensics,
Physics Principles, Biology Principles, and
Electronics.
Daily
Schedule
During
the first two days of the camp, students will
attend small group application-based workshops
in each subject area. Students will then choose
an area of focus in which they will spend two
and a half days. During this phase the students
will complete a take-away project related to
their area of interest. During the afternoon
of the final day the students will come back
together to share their experiences.
Instructors
Instruction
in the camp will be provided by content specialist
from Wheeler High School's Center for Advanced
Studies magnet program and program alumni.
Program
Fees
The
total program cost is $300. Program fees will
cover registration, instruction, daily lunch,
camp T-shirt, and materials for a take home
project.

A
maximum of 60 participants will be accepted
on a first-come basis. The camp is subject to
cancellation if there is a lack of participants.
Participants will be notified be early May if
the camp is cancelled.
The
