The Cobb County School
System provides arterial transportation to and from
Wheeler High School for out-of-district magnet students.
These routes are
determined each year after incoming students
have been selected.
Stops are arterial and cannot
be altered, i.e., subdivision stops, home stops,
etc.
As long as students
are actively enrolled in the program they are eligible
to use the transportation.
Local regular bus transportation
routes are available for those within the Wheeler
district.
Below are several guidelines
related to the transportation and the out-of-district
routes.
Students may be
picked up or dropped off at any of the scheduled
stops with prior permission.
Students may ride
different buses to and from school provided
they have made prior arrangements.
Students may ride
other in-district and out-of-district buses
with other students provided prior permission
has been obtained.
Permission is granted
on a daily basis with a note from a parent and
turned into Geri Gagat in the Wheeler Attendance office.
Times are approximate
depending on conditions and may be adjusted
later.
Traveling to and from school by Car
Due to the reconstruction and the changing of the traffic pattern on campus for the next 3-4 years, the following must take place to ensure a safe, orderly and efficient method of getting students on and off campus:
ALL traffic will enter the South Entrance (next to the Horticulture and the Magnet Building). All traffic on this road will be ONE-WAY & will exit the campus on the NORTH Exit (by the Auditorium)
There will be NO turn around in the Church parking area, nor will this area be a drop-off. No one except staff with decals will be allowed to park next to the Old Church Bldg.
Drop-off/Pick-up
AM - Vehicles without a WHS parking decal will not be allowed to turn off of Holt Road and enter the South Entrance between 8:00 - 8:45 am. Buses will be arriving to drop students off and the road cannot be blocked by drop-offs.
- Drop-offs before 8:00 am will be allowed.There is a designated area in the back parking lot for drop-off in the morning, if you arrive before 8:00 am
PM – Pick- ups after school will occur after the buses leave at 3:45pm. No one will be allowed to park along the South Entrance between 2:30 pm and 3:45 pm
There are portables in the magnet parking area so there will be no parking or drop-off in this area.
Parents and Volunteers must park across the street at East Cobb Middle School during the school day
